Everton ~ great start!

Everton giant Merouane Fellaini scores the winner against Manchester United at Goodison Park in the first game of the 2012/13 season. Step 1: cross it to the big guy with the hair; Step 2: Boom!

In recent years, Everton have traditionally gotten off to miserably slow starts, worry the hell out of everyone of their supporters, then play catchup, get into decent form after Christmas, and challenge for top six or seven spots by the end of the season.

Who knows what will happen this year, but they are off to a cracking start.  Well done, lads!  Massively pleasing.

A key is certainly Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic who arrived from Rangers in January and has been terrific.  Folks are saying that this is the best they’ve seen Everton play since, like, ever.

Pienaar’s return has been important, particularly with Arteta packing off to Emirates, but it has been largely “the regulars” who have been playing great so far this season.

As mentioned at The Executioner’s Bong, Everton’s goal rate goes up 50% when Fellaini plays a forward role.

Get in!  COYB!!
